1. Scope
This policy is part of the Terms of Service and applies to everything you do with the Cipher Tools website, application, licensing service, hosted mailboxes, and cloud-run tasks (the "Service"). Where this policy and the Terms differ, the stricter rule applies.
2. Lawful use only
You may use the Service only in ways that are lawful where you are and where the third-party sites you interact with operate. You are responsible for knowing and following those laws. Without limiting that, you must not use the Service to:
- commit or facilitate fraud, including payment fraud, identity fraud, chargeback fraud, or misrepresentation to obtain goods, services, credit or refunds;
- use payment methods, identities, addresses, phone numbers or email accounts that you do not own or are not authorised to use;
- gain unauthorised access to any system, account or data, or interfere with the operation of any third-party service beyond the ordinary use of its public interfaces;
- collect, store or process other people's personal data without a lawful basis;
- launder money, evade sanctions, or breach export controls;
- harass, threaten, defraud, or harm any person, or infringe anyone's intellectual property;
- send unsolicited messages (spam) or distribute malware.
3. Third-party sites
Every website you interact with through the Service has its own terms of use. It is your responsibility to review and comply with them, and to accept the consequences if a site closes accounts or refuses service as a result of automated activity. We provide the tool; we do not authorise, and cannot authorise, any particular use of a third party's systems.
4. Protecting the Service
You must not:
- share, sell, lend or publish your licence key, or run one key on more than one device at a time by circumventing the device lock;
- reverse-engineer, decompile, tamper with, or attempt to bypass the licensing, anti-detection, or update mechanisms of the software;
- probe, scan, load-test, or attack our servers, the mail service, the admin panel or the status bot; attempt to access another customer's data; or use our APIs other than through the application and website;
- impersonate Cipher Tools, our staff, or another customer, or misuse our name or branding;
- use hosted mailboxes for anything other than receiving verification messages for your own tasks, including as a general email service or for spam;
- abuse fair-use limits on cloud-run tasks or provisioned mailboxes in a way that degrades the Service for others.
5. Reporting
If you become aware of a security vulnerability in the Service, tell us at [email protected] before disclosing it elsewhere. Good-faith research reported responsibly will not be treated as a breach of this policy. Reports of misuse by other customers can be sent to the same address.
6. Enforcement
We may investigate suspected violations and may, at our discretion, warn you, limit features, suspend or permanently revoke your licence key and account, ban the associated Discord identity, and decline future business. Violations of Sections 2 and 4 are grounds for immediate revocation without refund. We may also report unlawful activity to law enforcement and cooperate with lawful requests. We are not obliged to give notice before acting, but we normally will for minor, curable issues.
7. Changes
We may update this policy as the Service and the law evolve. The current version is always at ciphertools.app/acceptable-use with its version date at the top; material changes are notified as described in the Terms.
